15 Month Check Up!

Today Jaxon went to see Dr. Edralin for is 15 month appt. Here are some notes from the appt... (this is pretty long and more for us to remember, I'm sure our readers prefer the picture posts, so more of those to come next week!)

1. The nurse put Jax on the baby scale... the scale starts flashing OVR LD, OVR LD, OVR LD - apparently, this means "OVER LOAD" and Jax weighed over 32 lbs because the nurse informed me the scale only went up to 32 pounds... :)

2. We did get his weight and height on the big boy equipment and he was only 31 1/2 pounds (stupid baby scale... trying to give him an extra half a pound... hehehehe) and 31 3/4 inches tall. This was the 98% for weight and only the 71% for height.

3. The doc came in and was AMAZED at Jax's weight and the curve pattern he was showing (kids usually are loosing weight by now because of being so active - and we all know he is ACTIVE!). At first the doc seemed concerned that he was so heavy and was asking about his eating habits - all of you know he eats anything and everything!!! But after taking his clothes off for the full exam and remembering Kinley's chub about a year ago the doc thinks he is just gonna be a BIG BOY not a FAT boy and there is no need for concern right now. Whew.... Momma is still a little concerned but the doc said chub is better than having trouble eating so we are thankful for that!

4. The skin and allergy troubles are much better now so we are getting the go ahead for whole milk (or should we say skim milk in Jax's case...) and we are taking a break from the allergy meds.

5. No ear infections!!!!!!

6. Dr. E looked at his tooth (the one that got pushed back in and then came down again) and encourged us to wait til he was atleast two to go to the dentist, there is nothing that can be done at this point since he still doesn't have all his teeth.

7. All is well developmentally, Jax is lucky to have Kinley push him along and do big boy things!

In others news Jax doesn't have a huge vocabulary, but his newest word is "basketball" that sounds something like "bagget bah" and we love to see him point them out at the store, at Daddy's games, in pictures, watching tv with Daddy, or when he is trying to get Kinley to get his down for him. He is getting very comfortable in his floaties and is strong enough and has great balance to hold himself up at the pool with only a little push here and there. He loves to climb up the big kid playsets at the parks and has only had one major fall from the top that resulted in a small bruise and a face full of sand, but nothing too tramatic. Sometimes is it hard to realize he is still little, cause he thinks he is soooo big! Maybe we should just not talk about the pacifier... Momma still cheats and lets him have it outside of his bed now and then, but I vow to not let him take it to Kindergarden... :) I don't know why I have turned into a softy when it comes to his paci and blankie. He loves puzzels, books, anything that he can push or ride and playing outide - no matter how hot it is! That is the 15 month news for the Jax man! He is a handful, but the perfect handful for us and we couldn't be more proud of our boy!

Lately...

Jax has been having some serious fun! We've been swimming tons (in our backyard blow ups, friend's pools, and with our pool passes), playing at the park (for a couple more weeks before it gets so hot we smoother!), going to birthday parties, watching ball games, etc... Jax has also been loving a few other things...

And the ultimate FUN... beating up his sis... he no longer runs from her, now Kinley runs from him!

Yesterday we went strawberry picking with Ms. Rachel, Tay, Jacob and Ms. Kay! Momma remembers picking strawberries with Gma, GGma and all Jax's aunts years ago so it brought back fun memories seeing Kinley and Jaxon out in the strawberrie field! Good thing Ms. Kay remembered her camera or we wouldn't have captured J and K's 1st picking experience!
