Rio - Jaxon's 1st Movie!

On Memorial Day Momma, Daddy, Jax and Kinley all went to see the movie Rio before heading to the pool. This was Jax's first theater movie and he loved it! I'm pretty sure he loved the popcorn more than the actual movie, but to each their own! Hehehehehe! We made the mistake of going at noon so about an hour into the show he started to get a little tired and restless. Daddy took him out for a few minutes for a break and a reminder that he had to sit still and be quiet. After they came back in he only was awake about 30 secs. Momma so wishes she would have snapped one more picture of our baby boy on his dad's shoulder as we walked to the car with him still asleep. Great family fun and a great day!

Baking Boy!

Funny to see how much this rough, tough, active boy can settle down if you tell him he can help you make something in the kitchen! He loves to watch Momma and ESPECIALLY help! Here are some pics of some baking we've done in the last week - Cupcakes, cookies and cinnamon rolls!

Another Zoo Trip!

It's safe to say one of Jaxon's fav activities is going to the zoo! This last trip Jax went with Momma, Kinley, Ms. Laurie, Emily, and Ms. Kay. It was a beautiful day and for the first time we fed the giraffes. Jax loved being up there, but wasn't so sure he wanted those long tongues touching him!

Jax: Yeah Man, what are we gonna do about that? One of our moms is always expecting us to look at the camera...

Danny Dog!

Last week while Kinley was in Tyler, Jaxon did a few special things with Momma durning the day while Daddy was at work. One morning we went to the mall to the Build-a-Bear store. Jaxon's friend Jake and his Mommy, Ms. Amanda came too. Jax and Jake had a blast getting the ride the carousel at the mall and then building DANNY DOG - Jaxon's new stuffed animal who is dressed in a football uniform and has his own helmet and ball!

Big Boy Room!

Our baby isn't a baby anymore, we thought he was big when we converted his crib to a toddler bed, but now we know he's grown up when he can sleep in a brand new queen sized bed! You all know I can't go further with this post without telling you about the bed... Ms. Rachel MADE this bed (yes she did help me put the quilt on it - hahahaha) what I am meaning to say is she BUILT Jaxon's new big boy bed (yes from a pile of lumber we picked up from Home Depot one Sunday afternoon). A few weeks later the master piece in the pics was delivered to our door step (actually into the bedroom)! The only work Momma help with was some of the sanding and painting - we can't thank Ms. Rachel enough for all the hard work - THE BED is AMAZING!!!! Now on to the rest of the room! The curtains - reg price $80, Momma got them on sell for just over $16.
The quilt/shams - reg price $80, got them for on clearance for $40.


The bed (lumber, paint, etc...) $160 - plus all of Ms. Rachel's free labor (thank YOU!!!)


$6 step stool - Jax loves this (Momma bought it in Canton and painted it the same as the bed)


The best bargain of the room - FREE Chest - One of our neighbors was throwing it away - Momma had a vision with some sanding, paint and new hardware - we love how it turned out! :)


Loved these little $3 accents from Hobby Lobby, they match some of the items he already had in the nursery, so we splurged a little and got them! :)





The other great news.... most of you know our 4th bedroom was turned into a playroom so we don't ever have a place for company to stay since we have had both kids. They end up sleeping on the floor on an air mattress or on the couches in the living room. Now that Jaxon has a queen bed his room can double as a guest room when we have company and he will get "the boot" for a couple of nights and probably have to sleep with Kinley in her room! :) So what I'm saying is... we love company - COME VISIT! :)

Kansas Easter 2011

This year went spent Easter weekend in Kansas with all 10 Oakley Cousins. We celebrated Gma Oakley and Daddy's birthdays, decorated eggs, went to the Northside Egg Hunt and the egg hunt at Great Granny's, and the other exciting news was we got to meet our two newest cousins - Brody and Jordyn.
