No Training Seat for Me!

Momma's on a roll for posting pictures that are gonna get her in trouble later, but this one's so stinkin cute I couldn't resist! Jax refuses to sit on the small potty chair or the training seat. Maybe he'll change his mind after he falls in once or twice!

Athletic...

Jaxon must be an all star athlete already... this morning he is using a golf club as a baseball bat to hit a small rubber basketball. Think Daddy has a little work to do!!!

18 Month Pics!

We can't hardly belive our little guy is 18 months old - time is flying by and with the school year starting this Momma is already worried about having to send her kids to Kindergarten and it is still YEARS away. With time passing us by so quickly, it seems unreal that Jax has already been in our lives a year and a half and I can't imagine that my time to myself with him is already 1/4 gone!!! Anyway... enough sobby stuff and back to the blog post... This month I launched a new business - Frugal Fotography (check out the blog at www.frugalfotography.blogspot.com) and I went out to take pics of Jax for his 18 month photo shoot! I think he is adorable (or course, I am his Momma) and I also can't get over how much he reminds me of his Grandpa Oakley. Enjoy Jaxon Ryan's 18 month pics!

He's Still Doing GREAT!!!

Jax has been doing a great job with his potty training. He has gone on the toilet 5-7 times per day since Sunday and today has been in the same diaper since 8:00 am today. It is now after 2:00 and he has gone on the toilet 4 times (once #2). So proud of our big boy and keeping our fingers crossed he keeps up the good work!

PS - Sorry this post is forsure too much info, but you all know this is my "baby" book info so I have to leave lots of details! :)

The Woodlands Children's Museum

On Friday we went to the new Children's Museum in The Woodlands with our friends Harry and Jake. When we got there we were surprised to see our other friends Jack and Carter. The old museum closed almost a year ago to move to a new location so we hadn't been in a very long time. We love the new location (closer to us) and the kids had a blast! We will probably try to go atleast a couple times a month! Thanks to Grandpa and Grandma Coleman for the "birthay present" membership!

Harry and Jax loved dressing up in the fire truck!

Kinley's favorite place was the little house with a fully furnished kitchen! :)

The rubber dirt exhibit for diggin!

Harry giving Kinley a ride in the big red truck!

More fire fighters!

Small wooden playset in the toddler area.

Jake and Jax went round and round on this!

Jake posing for the camera!

Puppet Show time - Momma can't say she was really impressed with this... the show was on monsters and tons of the kids ended up screaming and running to the parents!

Kinley and Jax in the "grocery store" - Kinley had trouble shopping without her coupons! :)

Potty Training Time?

Off and on for about two months we have been letting Jaxon sit on the "potty". Usually before a bath or when he wants to sit on it because Kinley has just done it (like he does with about everything Kinley does). Out of the times we have set him there he has gone on "accident" maybe 5 or 6 times. Now in the last 24 hours he has asked to go 3 times and actually gone all 3 times we have put him on the seat, including this morning when he woke up with a dry diaper. He is only right at 18 months so Momma and Daddy aren't dead set on full potty training as he probably doesn't even have complete control, but we are excited that we think he atleast is beginning to understand the feeling and concept and be proud of himself when he does go #1 and #2 on the "big boy potty"!

Wish us luck as we would LOVE to have him out of diapers by the age of two - but don't hold your breath - everyone knows Momma's a softy with her "baby" Jax (how long did that boy have a pacifier?)! :)

EDIT: MAKE THAT 5 TIMES IN 24 HOURS!!!! He came to us again this afternoon and this evening and when we put him up there both time he went - YEA JAX!!!!!!!!!

Hmmmmmm....

Not sure who is gonna be the most upset at Momma for posting this... Daddy now or Jaxon in 15 years...

The sad thing is he has better coordination and balance in these than Kinley does! :)

Learning Colors...A Jaxon Funny...

Momma and Jaxon have been working on learning his colors this week. Sometimes we use colored blocks or other colored objects. Today Kinley was doing a craft and Jax wanted to participate so it was a prefect time to use the markers on paper and talk about color. I drew 5 circles and colored them red, yellow, blue, green and orange. I pointed to the blue and he said "baaaaaahh" (it seemed like a good effort at the word "blue" as he still doesn't speak very clearly! - I praised him and hugged him and we went to the red one. He got all excited and yelled "baaahhhh" then started pointing to all my circles, laughing, jumping and saying, "bahhhhh, bahhhh, bahhhh"! Have you figured this out yet.... cause it sure took Momma a minute... Every circle was not an indivual color to Jax, we were looking at a whole page of BALLS - his favorite item and he was not telling me "blue" he was excited because I had made him a colorful page of balls for him to look at. :) Back to the "drawing board" - maybe colored blocks in the playroom are a better idea!

Big Boy Haircut!

This week our baby is turning into a big boy! Today Jaxon had his 1st haircut, he was too little (1st time we have ever heard Jax is "too little" for something) so Daddy had to sit in the chair with him. He got to pick a dum-dum sucker before we started (a great idea by the stylist) and was perfect thru the entire cut. No one in the store could believe he was sitting so still and neither could we! Sad to see his little baby curls gone, but loving his new "big boy" cut!

No More Paci!!!

Today Jaxon threw all his pacifiers in the trash. We have talked about it for a couple of days and been asking him if he was going to throw them away and he always says yes and is very proud of himself. This morning when he woke up we put them all in a ziplock and ask him if he was going to throw them away and expected the proud "yes" we had been getting, but he said "NO" and hugged them. We told him he was a big boy and he should and he did and then was very proud of himself. Surprisingly he went down for his nap and at bedtime just fine and has only asked a couple of times for his "Aaaaciiiii" and we remind him he threw them away and tell him he is a big boy and then he remembers and is proud again. So far so good and we hope he continues to do this well. We thought it was would be so hard for him to give them up, maybe it was just hard for Momma to give them up, cause he's doing great!
