Today Jaxon threw all his pacifiers in the trash. We have talked about it for a couple of days and been asking him if he was going to throw them away and he always says yes and is very proud of himself. This morning when he woke up we put them all in a ziplock and ask him if he was going to throw them away and expected the proud "yes" we had been getting, but he said "NO" and hugged them. We told him he was a big boy and he should and he did and then was very proud of himself. Surprisingly he went down for his nap and at bedtime just fine and has only asked a couple of times for his "Aaaaciiiii" and we remind him he threw them away and tell him he is a big boy and then he remembers and is proud again. So far so good and we hope he continues to do this well. We thought it was would be so hard for him to give them up, maybe it was just hard for Momma to give them up, cause he's doing great!

When you commented about this on my blog I felt a little sheepish, b/c Will still uses his paci at nap and bedtime. I'm nervous about getting rid of his, too, b/c of the new baby coming so soon. I wonder if we should just go ahead and get on with it.
