Today our baby boy is 1 year old. We haven't had his one month check up so we'll have to post specific sizes details later, but Momma, Daddy, and Kinley wish him a wonderful 1st Birthday TODAY!!!
Jaxon thinks he is SOOOO BIG and can do anything and everything! A stubborn little man who already has the set your mind to it and do it attitude that both Momma and Daddy love (not that we love that he is stubborn, especially if he is misbehaving, we just love that he shows perseverance!)!
He is learning his body parts and his newest trick is holding up one finger (sometimes on both hands at once) when we ask him how old he is. He loves to follow Kinley around and if you tell him "Go with Kinley" or "Find Kinley" or "Where's Kinley?" he doesn't miss a beat! He doesn't let her pick on him much anymore, the tables are turning and you wouldn't believe how many times a day Momma hears Kinley say things like "Jax is pulling my hair" or "Jaxon won't stop getting Kinley" or "Ahhhh, Jax just took all my toys" - he can hold his own in a pushing match and NOBODY is gonna take his food from him!
In recent posts you all have heard about the rough tough guy we have on our hands and we wouldn't have it any other way! Of course we could settle for a few less bumps and bruises (and missing teeth), but are proud that his is tough and active and advanced in his motor skills (you know Daddy is proud of that, as he already thinks Jax should be able to shoot in a basketball goal twice his size!) :)
We must note that he now gets swats (spankings) for misbehaving, as he knows what he is doing when he pitches a fit or does naughty things like trying to open the kitchen cabinets! Most of Momma's friends think Jax has gotten off easy compared to Kinley. Daddy thinks Jax gets away with murder in Momma's eyes. It is probably true even though there is NO WAY I truly want to admit it, as I am the oldest child and hated that my parents were so much stricter with me than the others.
Now for the sobby sweet stuff about our baby boy! I (Momma) had to take Jax out of church service on Sunday night because he was restless and tired. I sat down and held him in the training room, gave him his paci and blanket and then whispered songs in his ears. He is so big that he took up my whole lap, torso, shoulder, and both arms, but still a sweet baby boy who will fall asleep on me. I got a little sad knowing he won't sit on my lap that much longer, let alone fall asleep cradled in my arms (even if my arms consist of him sprawling over my whole body). We can't believe he is one today. Such a big kid, but such a baby at the same time. I just can't imagine taking away his bottle or making the paci and blankie only for bedtime. I don't know if it is because he is the "baby" of our family or him being a little boy, what exactly the reason, but I can be so proud as he does "big boy" things and so sad to see him having to give up "baby" stages at the same time!
Enough with all that! We have some family fun planned at McDonalds and the Ag Show tonight to celebrate Jaxon's big day and a BIG birthday bash on Saturday at our home! Hooray for our Jaxon Ryan turning 1!!!
